so your latest video dropped and I am working on a nice stone that I decided to do after six pieces of Mintabe beginners chips, none of which were great, but I expected cracks(not disappointed there) and weak color bars that face better from the side(also not disappointed) but I need to have more experience with working the rough so I can tell better in the future what to expect. *thanks Riley Gunn, you NEVER disappoint.
now this piece is from opal auctions and came from the VK Hatana shop. I bought 6 stones from them at the beginning of the year and this is the fourth one I have worked.
I believe it is coober pedy, but might be andamooka, or maybe I am totally wrong. If it was noted in the auction I have forgotten, I should probably check (lol).
Anyway, the piece cost 11 dollars, US, and after splitting the shipping and customs charge between the lot, it is a grand total of 15.40.
I bet I get way more out of it when I sell it.
it is currently sitting at 4.5 carats. I need to finish ridding this side of a tiny crack just at the tip. after that it will be ready for a polish (after I make sure that all the remaining facets and rough areas are gone).
easily be four and a quarter plus carats. not bad honestly. but I have not a clue about the value. I estimate its a b2, so maybe a three hundred dollar stone. we will see after its polished.
buy, yeah, keeping the stones you know will be good is a nice pick me up after the learning grind.
CHEERS ALL! let me know what you think it is worth.
