In the first eight months of my opal journey I have purchased 22 opal parcels. This is by far my best package. It cost $73 US, contains 19 stones and weighed a total of 101 carats. As I purchased other parcels as well with the vendor the shipping cost was divided among all parcels. As a result I paid about $80 total. That's just over 4 bucks a stone. Some of the finished/almost finished stones have nice color. Some are weak, but have good color. Some are colorless. I grind, rub and polish them all for the practice and skill building. The best, so far, is posted in another section of this forum(1st stone in 2nd row here). But I think the best stone
of the parcel is the top photo here. My guess is it had the best chance at being a winner and was the reason I bought this parcel. It could be that I will be wrong, given that 2 stones are very bright and colorful (top left, you know the ones I'm talking about).
Good work there. I've also bought some parcels and loose stones this summer, but still only working on the stuff from the beginners parcels from 53frogs. End up with cute but very small stones and some funny shapes and stuff, perfect practice materials for a rookie like me. :-)
